What we buy
Sell Rare & Certified Coins in NYC
Rare and certified coins are where real value often hides, and evaluating them well takes a numismatist rather than a pawn shop counter. NYC Coin Buyers buys key dates, certified coins, errors, and early American coinage, with offers grounded in published guides and real auction results.
You do not need to know what is rare before you come in. Bring your coins to our downtown Manhattan office and we identify the genuine collector pieces, explain what makes each one worth more than metal, and give you an itemized written offer.

How we price rare coins
Certified coins carry a grade that removes most of the guesswork, so we price them against the PCGS Price Guide, the CDN Greysheet, and recent auction records for that exact date and grade.
Raw (uncertified) rarities are appraised on their date, mint mark, and condition, then priced a little more conservatively because the authentication and grading risk falls on us. For high-value raw coins we can discuss submitting them for certification first.

FAQ
Sell Rare & Certified Coins in NYC: common questions
How do you determine what a rare coin is worth?
For certified coins we reference the PCGS Price Guide, the Greysheet, and recent auction sales for that exact date and grade. For raw coins we grade conservatively and price against the same data. We show you the comparables.
Should I get my coins graded before selling?
For most coins it is not necessary; we appraise raw coins every day. For a small number of high-value pieces, certification can raise the price enough to justify it, and we will tell you honestly when that is the case.
Do you buy error coins and varieties?
Yes. Genuine mint errors and recognized die varieties can carry strong premiums. Bring them in and we will confirm the variety and price it against the market.
